HughesNet Unlimited Data Downloads
How to get Unlimited Internet Downloads with HughesNet
If you are thinking of getting satellite internet and are worried about download data restrictions a HughesNet Satellite Internet user can take advantage of unlimited downloading between 1 am to 6 am central time. The following will help you. You must download the actual software labeled HughesNet Download Manager on the HughesNet Website (services.hughesnet.com).
HughesNet Download Manager
The Satellite Internet HughesNet Download Manager allows a HughesNet Satellite Internet user to down load unlimited amounts of software, music, and movies between the hours of 1 am to 6 am central time. This is done by using the HughesNet Download Manager. A HughesNet customer can manage what data they want to download and download it overnight when HughesNet unlimited data downloads occur.
Software Requirements
You must have Windows 7, Windows XP or Vista 32-bit Operating System. Internet Explorer and Firefox browsers are supported. During the installation, the HDM is set to use the Easy Mode which uses a simple menu to choose how files are downloaded.
The HDM default schedule downloads occurs during the Download Zone between of 1 am to 6 am central time. This is because HDM determines what the Time is for your location. This will virtually eliminate exceeding your download threshold related to file downloads. If you do want your file immediately simply click Download Now to download content you need immediately.
If you choose the Download Now you will be presented with a reminder that downloads outside of the Download Zone may increase your chances of being subjected to exceeding your download threshold.
How to use the HughesNet Download Manager
To Use the free-download manager simply click on the file you want to download. If the file is larger than 10 MB, the HDM will open the "New Download" window. The HDM will display a floating icon
Called a Drop Box on the lower right corner of your screen and you'll see a new icon in the system tray. You can drag any file to the Drop Box. The HDM will manage those downloads regardless of file size.
To ensure that the HDM does not start scheduled free-downloads too soon, scheduled downloads will start at five minutes after the Download Zone opens and end five minutes prior to the end. Scheduled free-downloads that do not complete will resume downloading the file during the next Download Zone session.
Satellite Internet implies a fair access policy to ensure fair use for all using the system. The restrictions are in place to protect to consumer from experiencing heavy usage due to an excess of data bottle necking the system. If you recall the days of dial-up internet, when there were to many users on AOL the modem would dial and dial repeatedly. This does still apply but the steps that Satellite Internet Providers have in place rarely if ever affect their Users.
Exceptions
You do have the ability to access Music and movies and you can access unlimited data at speeds much faster than dial up ever was, you just need the knowledge to use the system to your benefit. The manager will not help with steaming video such as YouTube or Netflix and the HDM does not manage or intercept Windows updates, iTunes, or other background application updates.

What Satellite Internet is All-About?
Satellite internet is becoming a known name in the rural and remote areas because you don’t have to rely upon the dial up service anymore. DSL and cable services have disadvantages over satellite internet because it provides faster emailing, downloading and uploading speed.
Areas that were earlier poorly connected with wired broadband services are now getting the advantage of high speed satellite internet broadband. The connectivity offered by internet is 50 times faster than what dial-up connections offer. Moreover, the packages offered by satellite internet service providers are lucrative in terms of price and service.
The functioning of Satellite Internet
A two-way satellite dish is installed at the desired location to establish satellite internet connection. This dish is different from the satellite television dish that receives signals but do not send them back. Whereas, satellite internet dish sends and receives signals, to and from the satellite orbiting the Earth. The dish uses microwave transmit and receive technology and it can be mounted on the ground or on roof top to get uninterrupted signals. The satellite internet service providers usually install the equipment free of cost, as it is a part of the service plan.
The dish is cabled with a special satellite modem, which in-turn is connected to the computer or laptop. The modem connects your system to the satellite in the same way like a cable or DSL modem does. Once the modem is connected, you get access to surf internet, upload and download files in a speedy way. Satellite internet is better than dial up connection where signal drop chances are higher and the net can get disconnected anytime.
With the boom in satellite internet industry, the companies providing satellite internet services have started paying a lot of attention on the infrastructure part of the set-up. They aim at delivering un-interrupted and high speed internet. Gateways have been established to connect and distribute internet access to users spread across the world. It is these gateways that enable even distribution of traffic from a PC and a faster signal transmission to the system.
Satellite internet has opened new doors of connectivity for those living in rural or remote areas. Now, you don’t have to rely on the slow dial-up networks to start surfing. Whether it is online shopping, downloading movies, opening heavy website pages or sending/receiving emails, the wireless internet service has speed-up the process.
HughesNet Business Solutions provides satellite internet service, high speed satellite internet, and cheap satellite internet, wireless internet service for small and medium businesses, affordable and flexible, available anywhere.

Social Media and Rural Internet Such as HughesNet
Social media has a significant placement on the World Wide Web and prior to the availability of high speed rural internal, residents of remote communities could not easily participate. Dialup internet could not cope with image files and applications involved in social media.
This type of internet media indicates a collective group of websites with content that is primarily published by the users of the site. The content submitted to the site is not created by the owner or employees. To use the site, people are required to register and become part of the community and now are welcome to submit content to the website, provided they adhere to the collective guidelines.
Social Media is A Form of Global Communication
Social media sites are not intended for use by individuals or organizations intending to use it as an advertising venue. Their purpose is to allow members to share articles, images and video clips that are unique or newsworthy. You will be banned from the community if you are found to be using it as a forum to promote yourself or your products. Things to Consider When Choosing a High-Speed Internet Provider.
There are many choices to consider when choosing a High-Speed Satellite Internet Service that makes selecting the right provider of paramount importance. New customers should decide what type of service they want, and then compare providers’ plans to determine which company offers the level of service that best suits their needs.
Some companies promise unbelievable net browsing speed, over-exaggerate the features provided by their systems, and fail to deliver the level of service their customers expect. As a result, customers who do not “do their homework” may find themselves tied to a high-priced, lengthy contract, and a sub-standard internet system.
Although there are many high-speed internet providers, the one company that consistently offers unbeatable speed and reliability is Hughes Net. With more than 325,000 subscribers, Hughes Net sets the standard within the industry for consistency and speed.
Brad’s Electronics, Inc. is dedicated to providing our customers with a reliable and affordable High-Speed Internet service tailored to fit their individual needs. HughesNet Download Period aka “FAP-Free Time
HughesNet Download Period aka “FAP-Free Time
Since it’s occasionally necessary to download large files such as Windows updates, HughesNet provides a period when you can download a lot of data and not be penalized by the Fair Access Policy (FAP). HughesNet calls this the “Download Period.” We like to call it “FAP-Free Time.”
The actual hours of the Download Period depend on the HughesNet modem that you are using. HughesNet states that “the hours of unrestricted use shall begin no later than 2:00 AM and end no earlier than 7:00 AM Eastern Time.” For my HN7000S modem, the Download Period is from 2AM-7AM Eastern Time.
Note that a FAP Penalty is disregarded during the Download Period, meaning that downloads are at full-speed during that period even if you are currently penalized.
Let’s say you start a massive download at 1AM that concludes at 8AM. The amount you download between 1AM-2AM will count toward your FAP download limit. Of course anything you download between 2AM-7AM will not count toward your FAP limit since this is the FAP-Free Time. Then the amount you download between 7AM-8AM will once again count toward your limit.
The same applies with a FAP penalty. If your download speed is severely restricted due to FAP penalty, your downloads between 1AM-2AM will be very slow. Your download speed will return to normal between 2AM-7AM during FAP-Free time. Then if you still have time remaining on your FAP penalty, your download speed will drop again after the Download Period ends at 7AM.

Limitations of the Download Period
Though you can download large files without penalty during the Download Period, there are other limitations in place:- Downloads are subject to available network capacity.
- Download speeds are not guaranteed during these hours.
- The HughesNet Acceptable Use Policy is still in effect.
How Large Downloads Work
Downloads that extend into or out of the Download Period can get a little tricky. This is best explained with an example.Let’s say you start a massive download at 1AM that concludes at 8AM. The amount you download between 1AM-2AM will count toward your FAP download limit.
